The East

Greetings Brothers of Centennial Lodge No. 4,

My name is Brian Tatum, and it is both an honor and a privilege to introduce myself as the Worshipful Master for the upcoming Masonic year. As many of you know, I have been a proud member of this historic Lodge for more than ten years, and I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me.

I am a proud native of Denver Colorado, raised in this community, and a product of its schools. My formative years were shaped right here at home, and it means a great deal to serve a Lodge that stands in the very community that helped shape me. Centennial Lodge No. 4 has been rooted in Denver since 1898, establishing traditions and a commitment to excellence for more than a century.

As a combat infantry war veteran of the United States Army, the leadership roles and responsibilities I carried strengthened my discipline, resilience, and ability to lead with confidence and purpose. Those experiences, combined with my Masonic journey has prepared me for this moment. Each chair has taught me something meaningful about leadership, humility, and service.

I also want to acknowledge the Past Masters who took the time to pour into me and ensure that I understood not only the work, but the spirit and weight of the work. Their wisdom has been instrumental in shaping the Master Mason and the man I continue to strive to be.

Most importantly, I stand proud as a member of Prince Hall Masonry, an institution that has long upheld dignity, leadership, and integrity within the Black community. Prince Hall set a standard that empowered men of color to build, serve, and uplift one another often in times when society denied us that dignity. To be part of this prestigious and historic organization is not only an honor, but a responsibility I embrace with deep respect.

This year, my focus is simple: whatever goals we set we will reach them together. I want every brother to know that your voice matters and that this Lodge thrives when we all participate.

To the brothers who have not been around for a while, I encourage you to come back and be a part of what we are building. Over the past couple of years, Centennial Lodge No. 4 has been active, visible, and committed to meaningful work in our community. That momentum has opened the door wide for you to return, reconnect, and re-engage. Pick up your working tools, step back into the Craft, and let us continue the labor our forefathers established for us to do. Your presence adds value, and this Lodge is stronger with you actively in it.

I am proud to work alongside all staff members for the upcoming year, and we look forward to supporting you and working with you to help us all achieve our goals as a united body.

Thank you for allowing me to serve. I look forward to a year of growth, unity, and purposeful work as we continue the legacy of Centennial Lodge No. 4.

Fraternally,

Brian Tatum
